Elder Forest Dragon

Alright everyone...here is the drawing (ellipse needs fixing), value and color study to my next piece: "Forest Elder Dragon." Think of him as a forest version of Gandalf, but as a dragon...or maybe Treebeard if he was a dragon. The pipe, I think was a fun touch. And I'll probably scatter books around him to give him that touch of wisdom. Enjoy! =)

Another finished environment...

I literally just finished (minutes ago) this latest 1800s Japanese environment, just to try my hands at it. Hope you all enjoy it!

Some new stuff this semester....

Sorry for not posting anything this past month. However, to cut to the chase, here are the projects that I have been working on. Although none of them are finishes, I hope to polish all of them by the end of the year. I hope you enjoy what you see. =)

Athena: Character Illustration

Well, I can finally post this lady on my blog as I just finished rendering her this last week. I actually like the colors (which I obtained from a scene in WALL-E), and some of the painterly qualities I attempted to achieve. Anyways, this a more sci-fi (though not greatly) take on the greek goddess, Athena. That's all I'll say, you want more...well, I'm just don't wanna type out that much information. But, hey, I hope you enjoy! =)

The Bindlestick Journey-Part 1

Well, this piece was done late last night as an accidental speed painting (actually, my first speed painting). I was quite pleased with it, so I decided to start trying to do a series of these involving this man and his bindlestick (those little sacks that hobos carry on the end of a stick). Please, enjoy!

Lily Pad Isle

I actually attempted a small amount of matte painting into this concept (though I think I don't enjoy matte painting...to detail oriented, I like looseness such as alla prima type stuff). Anyways, I feel good about it and I definitely believe I got the focal point down, and thanks to all who helped me over and over again with setting the correct mood and lighting on this piece. Enjoy!

Thumbnailing Away...for new illustrations....

These are some of the many thumbnails and sketches I've done the past 4-5 days for a new character illustration for a sci-fi take on the Greek goddess, Athena. The other thumbnails are for an environment for a focus on our world if it fully relies on solar voltaics and similar solar power for energy in the year 2040 (based on Art Center's "Mobility VIP" program). Enjoy!
